A symposium held by the Skagafjörður Heritage Museum in Kakalaskáli in Skagafjörður on September 4th. The topic was the preservation of traditional building methods, where the turf heritage was in the spotlight. The symposium took place between two courses from the Heritage Craft School. We wanted to take the opportunity to hold this symposium as the participants of the courses were individuals with jobs related to the preservation of traditional building methods, both in Iceland and abroad, i.a. from the National Museum of Iceland, The Cultural Heritage Agency of Iceland, the Building Preservation Centre, and also craftsmen (teachers and students) from the Institutt for Arkitektur og teknologi at NTNU (Norges Teknisk Naturvitenskapelige Universitet).

The symposium was held in english.

The symposium was funded by The Cultural Heritage Agency of Iceland.
